Ingredients... 1 Cup...150 ml *Til without polish...2 cups *Finely chopped Jaggery... 1 Cup Method.... *Roast Til in a kadhai on low flame, sauting continuously to remove it's raw flavour. Take care not to over roast it. Let it cool. *In a mixer jar add roasted Til and Jaggery, grind till it becomes powder. *Put in a wide based pan and mix thoroughly with the help of your hands. *Roll in small Ladoo. *You can eat one small Ladoo daily. Ingredients...
For Dal
*Split Pigeon/Arhar/Tuar Dal...1 Cup
*Salt...1.5 tsp
*Green Chillies...4... chopped
*Oil...4 tbspn
*Mustard Seeds... 1/4 tsp
*Asafoetida Powder... 1/4 tsp
*Lemon juice... 4 tsp
*Sugar... 3 tsp
For Phal...
*Wheat flour... 1 Cup
*Oil... 3 tsp
*Salt... 3/4 tsp
*Red Chilli Powder... 1/2 tsp
*Turmeric powder... 1/4 tsp
*Cumin seeds... 1/4 tsp
*Ajwain... 1/4 tsp
For Serving...
*Finely chopped Onion...1 Cup
*Finely chopped Tomatoes... 1/2 Cup
*Finely chopped Coriander... 1/4 Cup
Method...
*Wash and Soak the Tuar Dal for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, pressure cook it by adding 3 Cups Water & Turmeric. Place the Gas on high flame for 10 minutes, and on low flame for 10 minutes.
* When Cooker cools, remove the Dal, mash it properly and add 1 Cup water. Keep it aside.
*Mix all the ingredients for Phal & make a dough by using 1/2 Cup water. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
*After 10 minutes, roll out small Poori and shape like , shapes shown in the Photo.
*Keep a big Pan or Kadhai on the Gas, heat Oil, add Mustard Seeds.
*After it splutters add Asafoetida Powder and Green Chillies.
*Pour Dal, add Salt, Sugar & Lemon Juice. Mix properly.
*Add 3 Cups of Water, let it boil on high flame, when it will start boiling nicely, add already prepared Phal, one by one carefully.
*Put the Gas on medium flame, within 5 minutes, Phal will start floating on the surface. This means they are cooked and ready to serve.
*Switch off the Gas.
*In one serving bowl add 4..5 phal, add Dal, Garnish with lot's of Raw Onions, Tomatoes & Coriander.
Note...
1)You can use Raw Mango Or Kokum Or Tamarind pulp instead of Lemon Juice.
2) You can replace Sugar by Jaggery.
3) Use Curry leaves for different flavour.
4) Serve by adding one teaspoon home made Ghee.
