Beautiful season of winter is going on. Market is full with fresh vegetables and fruits.
So prepared this yummy and tangy tomato ketchup. Eat fresh and stay healthy.
No artificial colour and preservatives are added. If refrigerated will long for 3 months.
Ingredients
*Fresh Red Tomato... 1/2 kg
*Garlic pods... 5-6
*Chopped Beetroot... 2 tbspn(optional)
*Sugar... 4 tablespoons
*Red chilli powder... 2 tsp(as per your choice)
*Salt... 1/2 tsp
*Vinegar... 2 tablespoons
Method
*Take firm ripe Red Tomato 🍅. Wash and cut in big pieces. We are going to grind them after cooking.
*Peel the Garlic.Garlic is used to balance the flavour of beetroot.
*Pressure cook tomatoes , garlic and chopped Beetroot for 3 pressures. No need to add water. Let it cool .
*Grind from the mixer without adding water.
*Strain this grinded mix. Hardly 1 tsp residue will be there. You can use that in any dal or veg preperation.
*In a heavy based pan, add this tomato mixture, Sugar, Salt, Red chilli powder,and Vinegar . Cook on medium flame stirring continuously.
Bubbles may pop up while cooking, so use long handle spoon.
*Cook till it thickens. It will take approximately 15 minutes.
Put a drop of this ketchup in a plate and tilt the plate. . If no water is released from it, it is perfectly cooked.
*Switch off the gas, let it cool.
*Store in a clean glass bottle.
*If refrigerated will last for 3 months.
*With this proportion you will get 300 ml ketchup approximately.
